Youth Development (YDEV) is a major/career that is center around empowering youth to be great leaders. It is a community that values love, care, and positive, critical, and risk and resilience development. YDEV is also about creating a learning space that youth feels comfortable and is assure that their voice matters. YDEV major is a mixture of other classes; 5 Nonprofit classes, 5 Social Work classes, 5 YDEV classes and other education classes. All of these classes are relevant to Youth Development because they all teach what youth workers need to know in the field and how to apply them. The Nonprofit and Social work classes prepare future youth workers for their career. YDEV is a community that also live and breathe the concept of "oneness". Leading with is very important to youth workers. They believe in the value of leading with trust, honesty, and safe space.
