Play

Growing up as a child, I was not involved in many activities that relate to play. Few of the activities I remember was at Sunday School in my native land. The facilitators would often separate the class by age groups and make us learn the assignment through play. If it is a song that we had to learn, the facilitators would create dance that goes with the song to make it fun for everyone. At that time, I did not know much about play and thought that play was meant only for fun and entertainment. I was completely wrong! As Jenkins states, "Play is not disguised learning; play IS learning." Play has a value and purpose to it than just fun.
